Our Cottage Rooms

We have three other facilities that make up additional rooms at the Richwood Plantation: The Mountain View Cottage, the “Bunkhouse” or River View Cottage and the Summer Cottage.

The *Mountain View Cottage* was built in the late 1800's and was used as the home for the Property Manger and the horse riding teacher for the Richwood Plantation Riding School for Young Women from around 1891 until 1969. The two rooms in this cottage sleeps up to 4 people, have a full kitchen, huge living/dining area, a wood-burning fireplace and satellite TV, DVD/CD. The separate bedroom has a king-size bed, satellite TV, DVD/CD player and a full bath that also connects to the living room. You have a spacious, rear covered porch with a wonderful view of the mountains where you will likely see deer, turkey and other wildlife.

	The *“Bunkhouse” or Lake View Cottage* was also built in the late 1800's and was used as the "Bunk House" for the girl students who attended the Richwood Plantation Riding School. There are 3 Lake View Cottage rooms, all connected by a spacious rear deck which overlooks our huge, old red barn", a large pond with dock, and the beautiful Kentucky hillside.

Each of the 3 rooms in this cottage has a downstairs with a full kitchen, a dining/living area with a table for four, a queen-size sofa-bed, satellite TV, DVD/CD and a half bath. You’ll find large sliding-glass doors leading out to the rear deck which overlooks beautiful areas of the property and the mountainsides. Upstairs you have a huge bedroom with vaulted, cedar beamed ceilings, a king-size bed, a private full bath, and a separate, two-person hot-tub in the bedroom. You’ll also find an incredible view of the west end of the Plantation grounds from your wall-to-wall glass windows upstairs.

The *Summer Cottage* sleeps 2 and was also built in the very early 1800's. This cottage was originally used as the kitchen for the Plantation Mansion and is a real favorite of honeymooners and people celebrating special events such as an anniversary. Guests in the Summer Cottage have the entire cottage just to themselves for more privacy! Some of your luxuries in this cottage include: a kitchenette, gas-log fireplace, a two-person hot-tub in the bedroom, an elevated, queen-size four-poster bed with a love seat facing the fireplace, satellite TV, DVD/CD player, a separate bath with a shower, and an incredible view out of every window! And….You have a back porch to enjoy the views of both the mountains and the Ohio River.

It doesn’t matter which of these three cottages you choose, you’re only steps away from the pool, hot-tub, laundry hut and the mansion itself and all the other property grounds.
